Who we Are: Schools, Vocational and Resource Center for the Autism Community.
Connections is rooted with a dedicated team of administrators who share a vision to serve as advocates for inclusion and understanding, and as a valued resource of information and expertise to support students on the Autism Spectrum Disorder, and their families.
We recruit and value a committed team of expert-educators and paraprofessionals, who teach skills and model behavior with positivity, care and compassion toward a common goal. Our passion to help our students reach their own, unique, full potential is played out daily to help each thrive after graduation as adults with self-satisfaction and happiness – as valued, contributory members of the community.
Connections believes in serving the whole family to bridge and nurture ‘connections’ between siblings, relatives, friends and members of the business community. When you think of Connections, think of us as a resource for the community that involves the whole family. Siblings recreate, learn and bond together – friends, family and the expanded community learn about what living on the Autism spectrum is like and how to support the Autism community. Throughout the year, our students enjoy and learn how to ‘get social’ with invited guests through holiday parties, hands-on crafts, fitness activities, book fairs, and outdoor play.
We realize that parents of children living with Autism have unique needs too. Parent training classes and family support activities are planned and hosted year-round. We are here to share information and understanding and walk together through the educational and socio-economic experience of the unique population of students at Connections – as a true extension of our families.
